Clinics open to kids from ages 5 to 13 years to feature @ McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast Sevens

January 5, 2023

The McDonald’s Skills clinic is a new addition to the FWCC & McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast Sevens next month.

It is open to kids from ages five to 13 years and this will take place under the watchful eye of Fiji Airways Fijian 7s coach Ben Gollings and his 7s squad.

Founding Chairman Jay Whyte said the kids will be asked to pass seven stations and complete the course to receive their certificate of completion and a special offer from McDonald’s.

The clinic will start at 2pm on Wednesday January 11 at St Joan of Arc Grounds before the group will be invited to Sigatoka Town to witness the unveilling of two plaques.

“The McDonald’s Skills Clinic will see a series of skills challenges set up for kids to participate in, testing their skills,” he said.

“This is obviously helping to teach the next generation of players the fundamentals of the game, the correct way to pass the ball, catch the ball and teach both boys and girls the correct fundamentals. “Ensuring they are practicing the right way from an early age.

“Ben Gollings has been engaged to help create these stages and he will be on site to assist with this exciting addition to the tournament build up. Players of all ages welcome to participate.

“PacificAus Sports will also assist in this exciting initiative, with the Aussie Women’s & Youth teams being on site to pass on their knowledge to the kids of Fiji.”

The 11th annual McDonald’s Fiji’s Coral Coast Sevens kicks off on the 12th January 2023 at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka and will feature 16 men’s teams, 12 women’s teams and 16 Youth teams.
