December 30, 2013

The Sigatoka District Hospital charity golf day held at the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course on Sunday 1st December has raised $57, 370 thanks to the efforts of Fiji’s corporate businesses and avid golfers.

23 teams comprising 92 players played in a combined two ball Ambrose competition which included prizes for ‘Nearest to the pin’ and ‘Longest drive’ at various holes.

Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji General Manager and chairman of the Coral Coast Hoteliers Association Peter Hopgood stated the funds raised will go towards the new Sigatoka District Hospital maternity ward which is being built by the hoteliers in conjunction with the Ministry of Health.

“The weather was perfect for a good game of golf and a fantastic number of golfers turned out to support this good cause”, Mr. Hopgood stated.

“We are really grateful to all the sponsors, the hotels, Vodafone, ANZ, Digicel, Paradise Beverages, the Fiji Rum Shop, Hot Glass Fiji , Club car, Tappoos, Jacks of Fiji and Prouds for the prizes for the monster raffle where we raised a further $5000”, Mr. Hopgood continued.
