The new Miss Vodafone Coral Coast 2019 Natasha Saiyad was overrun with emotions as she was crowned queen at the carnival last night.
Ms Saiyad, who entered the 2019 Coral Coast Carnival as Miss Nadroga District Council of Social Services, said she never expected such a successful end to her journey.
“I’d like to thank my sponsors and not forgetting the founder of Aqua Foundation,” she said
“Never give up, you will achieve what you dream.”
With this year’s carnival theme being ‘Let’s harvest wellness mentally, spiritually and physically’, the chief guest, Mahendra Reddy, advised everyone to harvest wellness through gardening.
The Minister for Agriculture, Waterways and Environment said: “I call upon all of you to continue to forge ahead this new stock of wisdom on wellness over the last seven days and let this permeate the entire society and deliver onto a healthier future Fiji.”
Vodafone Fiji Head of Recharge and Distribution Nilesh Singh said carnivals such as this were a great way for communities to come together with fun, cultural and social activities.
“Importantly, the carnivals pave the way to support the benevolent cause of charity in developing the municipality,” he said.
