Coral Coast 5-star resort Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji has had an unbelievably successful 2013 and this according to the General Manager Peter Hopgood is all thanks to the hard working staff and the greater support from the tourism industry.
This year the resort has had a record 265 weddings, an increase of 25 from last year. Next year’s numbers are already looking promising and is expected to exceed this year’s count.
Resort General Manager Peter Hopgood stated the management could not have asked for a more pleasing result and the current 98% occupancy of both international and local guests checked in at the resort to celebrate the New Year is testament to the hard work in 2013.
“We have had an exceptional year and our vuvale are one of the reasons for our success! We rightfully boast the friendliest staff in Fiji and we are very proud of our achievements”, Mr. Hopgood stated.
“Our resort started off the year with two wins at the AON Fiji Excellence in Tourism awards for the Best Fine Dining Restaurant Ivi and Best Deluxe Accommodation. We opened our new adults only pool in June, our Bebe Spa won an Australasian Spa and Pevonia award in August and September and we have been voted a top ten holiday resort for a top kids travel magazine in Australia,” Mr. Hopgood added.
“We’d also like to thank the various tourism stakeholders that have contributed to a great year for Fiji. From the transport providers, to our national airline, Fiji Airways and to all the inbound operators, we have worked hard as a team and 2013 has been a fantastic year for us all!” Mr. Hopgood concluded
Meanwhile the resort has planned a beach party to usher in the New Year. Guests and staff have been invited to the countdown at the beach to welcome in 2014.
