Nestled along the Korotogo strip on the Coral Coast, Cafe Planet Fiji received top reviews in recent days.
For coffee lovers, this is the place to visit.
The cafe is open from Monday to Sunday, from 7am to 6pm.
The small white cottage, previously a one-bedroom flat – now holds an eight sitting capacity.
The decking outside could easily cater for a bigger crowd.
The homely atmosphere and smell of freshly roasted coffee is heaven for those in search for the right brew.
Add to the mix the smell of flowering uci plants at the entrance.
Also, a hen is likely to greet you at the door. But quickly scoots away as customers are served.
On less sunny days, a quick coffee on the go is recommended.
So what makes Cafe Planet Fiji hard to pass by?
- The coffee, coffee and coffee.
- Fresh coffee beans are roasted on site.
Cafe owner, Adriaan Rodenburg was modest about the great reviews.
But also pointed to what he knows best – getting you good coffee.
The fresh coffee beans are sourced from six locations around the world:
- Ethiopia,
- Sumatra,
- Uganda,
- Papua New Guinea,
- Brazil and
- Nicaragua.
They are roasted at the Korotogo cafe and carefully mixed into three different blends: Latitude, Hemispheres and Organic Fair Trade.
The storage of the beans, both fresh and roasted are also important.
It all contributes to getting the right mix for your favourite brew.
The technical aspect is quite complicated, but for the most part – its TLC (tender, love and care) in a cup.
That’s the point of difference for Cafe Planet Fiji.
A second cafe opened in Nadi two months ago – along Denarau Road.
There are plans to open a branch in Suva.
A welcome move for the growing coffee lovers based in the capital.
