The Bilibili Race - a Coral Coast tradition

Sigatoka and Nadroga is famous for the annual Bilibili Race a festive sporting event involving employees of the province’s hotels and resorts, located along the Coral Coast.

An archaeology of salt production in Fiji

Sigatoka Sand Dunes at the mouth of the Sigatoka River on the Coral Coast, is home to a complex of archaeological sites of the Navatu phase (AD 200-1000) which provide evidence for solar salt production practiced as a household-based skill.

The Navatu phase refers to post-Lapita occupations in Fiji, dated between 2100-900 years ago (BP), with cultural characteristics thought to have been influenced by contact with Vanuatu and New Caledonia.

Opening of the new Accident and Emergency Department of the Sigatoka Hospital

PEOPLE of Nadroga and Navosa now have access to state-of-the-art facilities at the accident and emergency unit at Koromumu Hospital in Sigatoka.

The unit, designed to improve patient comfort and guarantee the efficient provision of emergency services, was built with funds from the Coral Coast chapter of the Fiji Islands Hotel and Tourism Association. Fiji’s first rapid response rescue and fire tender

The Coral Coast Chapter of the Fiji Islands Hotel and Tourism Association has contributed yet again to the local community with a donation of Fiji’s first rapid response rescue and fire tender to the National Fire Authority of Fiji (NFS).
