Families in isolation in Sigatoka were assisted by staff and management of the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort.
The hotel property which has also been a quarantine facility for COVID-19 affected households gave ration packs for the isolated families.
According to the resort, staff and management used their own resources and joined a local supermarket to enable the distribution of the food packs through the Sigatoka Hospital’s community drive.
Resort general manager Darren Shaw reached out to their staff members for any support that could be provided for the affected families.
“I am so grateful to the resort staff for their positive response,” he said.
“We are thrilled to be able to assist our fellow Sigatoka residents in their time of isolation.
“Community service has always been a part of the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort’s annual planning, having spearheaded projects within local schools over the past few years.”
The Coral Coast resort has been a supporter of Government’s COVID-19 response campaign by providing accommodation for affected households and individuals.
In a past interview, Mr Shaw confirmed a few of their staff members tested positive, which resulted in the resort’s closure of its isolation and quarantine services.
